Worldwide, forests deliver a multitude of vital services, including provision of clean air and water, habitat and wood. They store carbon and prevent soil erosion. Forests are places of recreation, education and spirituality. Forests provide employment, unleash passion and spark contention.
How we manage our forests has become an issue of black and white. Black for clear-cutting, white for conservation of biodiversity. We believe that this dichotomy in language – and thinking – is counterproductive.
